Another BETA and another busy show is over again for another year. Sometimes it feels like we spend all year waiting for BETA to arrive, so we can see what everyone has been up to, what new products are coming out this year and of course catching up on that all important gossip!
If I had thought that this year’s BETA wasn’t going to be as busy for us, as we weren’t exhibiting, then I could think again! Although not all of our clients were in attendance, we had lots of PR and marketing to distribute on their behalf and of course the launch of Essex Animal Feed’s new bedding BedSoft. At least when we had a stand in previous years I could sit down for a bit and ask people to meet me there when it all got too much, but not this year. I had to pound the carpet, catch up with our media contacts and keep an eye out for any new clients that could be snapped up.
For the first time in what seems like many years, we didn’t attend the BETA Business Awards evening, and we missed out on cheering for our clients Ingatestone Saddlery Centre who for the second year running won the Internet/Mail Order Retailer of the Year. Their lovely and highly commended website has been redesigned and updated by Graphic Evidence over the last 4 years and it is wonderful that they have won another award for it!
Other highlights of the show, included catching up with Andrew and Polly Gould, Andrew was on a high, as he was fresh from his success at the Regional Championships the day before. Andrew had clocked up an impressive First, three Seconds and a Fourth, which we were delighted to tell his new sponsors Equine America all about, and to make it even more perfect Andrew had won whilst riding the newly renamed Cortaflex Varisto! Well done Andrew.
Lunch with the Puffa girls is always fun, so I was delighted to be able to catch up with them and get the low-down on this seasons coming collections… I can’t say to much, but it looks amazing!!
Another high-light was a special, secret little parcel delivered to me from Horse & Hound’s Master Baker, aka Sales Exec Nicky Green, unfortunately Adam guessed what was in my little package and insisted I share the scrummy chocolate brownies with him.
All in all, a hefty amount of business was done, a lot of promotion and a phenomenal amount of gossiping and catching up. So a atypical BETA all round. Til next year….
